Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Special Requests: No previous employment allowed at this facility. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Manager makes the schedule. If traveler has preferences, manager is open to working with block scheduling.

Unit Details: Cares for CP, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, ortho, detox, post-op surgical, and pediatric patients. May take a wide variety of Med/Surg patients except laboring moms and patients requiring titrating cardiac drips or insulin drips. Telemetry strips are read by ICU monitors and faxed to Med/Surg for nurse documentation. No charge nurse; house supervisor makes assignments for nurses and aides. 3 nurse aides per shift. Uses CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow; RT assists and manages.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required; weekend night shifts are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Holidays rotate with regular staff. No call. Extra shifts may be available.

Floating Requirements: Frequently floats to assist other units as a tasker or extra set of hands.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required for submission
