As a Stress and Lifing Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural analysis of a wide range of static components, including casings, bearing supports, frames, mounts, and inlet guide vanes. These components are essential to the integrity of the engine and are subjected to a variety of complex loading conditions, including thermal, pressure, and mechanical loads. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any protected characteristics.**What you will be doing*** Lead and perform advanced mechanical integrity, stress, and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical modeling techniques.* Mentor and train junior analysts, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development within the team.* Conduct peer reviews of analysis projects, ensuring high standards of technical quality and rigor.* Serve as a primary point of contact for mechanical integrity matters, facilitating effective communication and collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams.* Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders, clearly communicating complex analysis results and recommendations.* Actively participate in the global engineering community, sharing subject matter expertise and best practices across the organization.* Champion continuous improvement initiatives, driving enhancements to tools, processes, and methods both within the team and across the wider function.**Who we’re looking for:**At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.**Basic Requirements:*** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering, OR* Master's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering, OR* PhD in Engineering* In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen**Preferred Requirements:*** 8 or more years of hands-on experience in conducting mechanical integrity, stress and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical models* Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters* Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks* Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to region* Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization**What we offer**We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits.
