Material HandlerFirst Shift: 5:30AM - 2:00PMClarence, New YorkJob SummaryLoads, unloads and moves materials/products within the facility for prompt and accurate access to shipping and/or production based upon the needs of the company and the customer.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, cranes, hoists, and pallet jack to load, unload, transport, or stack material.Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be movedNon-essential Duties:(May) Act as back-up driver for company truckFollows all safety proceduresMaintain vehicles in good working condition.Communicate with others to coordinate material handling or movement.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Able to work under pressureAble to follow directions preciselyMust be certified to operate forklift and drive in a safe manner.Must possess valid unrestricted driver's licenseExperience and Education:High School Diploma or GED1 – 2 years manufacturing experienceEquivalent combination of education and experience.Special Requirements:Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.Requires the use of the following personal protective equipment: safety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots.Must be able to:Work safely in a fast paced environmentWork overtime, including weekends as requested.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
