School Nurse Assistant Location: Loudoun County Public Schools Health Services Office – Ashburn, Virginia. Job Details Starting Date: Aug 6, 2026 Position Type: Full-Time, 4 hours per day (10 months, 192 days/4 hours) Salary Range: $21.40 - $22.73 per hour FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Remote Work Eligible: No Salary Level: B/Universal, Non-Exempt Level 4 Collective Bargaining Unit: Non-Certified Job Description Job Overview This health position supports health service programs at schools. An employee in this class assists the Registered Nurse in a high school clinic under the Nurse’s direction and supervision. Duties include performing basic first aid, assisting with maintenance of health records, and related clinic duties. Roles and Responsibilities Checks temperatures; renders limited first aid; assists with screening procedures. Assists with maintenance of immunization records and informs appropriate officials of deficits. The Registered Nurse will assist with helping aides learn how to organize their clinics and familiarize them with appropriate documentation procedures. Assists the Registered Nurse with documentation of clinic visits and care provided daily. Administers medication appropriately per School District's medication policy and documents. Performs related work as assigned by the Registered Nurse. Qualifications Graduation from high school and experience in providing nurse assistant services; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the following knowledge, abilities, and skills: Knowledge of basic health practices. Knowledge of basic computer skills. Ability to deal effectively with students requiring health assistance; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to work cooperatively with others. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, kneel, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
