Summary You will serve as a WOODCRAFTER LEADER in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (970) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Duties You will utilize information from blueprints, sketches, and work documents to plan and execute the sequence of work tasks. You will maintain close observation of all work operations and assure proper adherence to procedures and guidelines. You will perform journeyman level woodcrafter work. You will ensure workers have the necessary plans, procedures, blueprints, instructions, and tools to perform their work operations. You will provide on the job training for workers, and correct improper woodcrafter methods. Requirements Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
