Day shift, 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care through intensive respiratory care and patient transport services as medically prescribed and within the scope of professional license. This role includes evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients about treatment purposes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory and aerosol devices to administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
• Perform chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance.
• Administer suctioning via oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal methods.
• Monitor patient oximetry and capnography, reviewing chest x-rays as necessary.
• Conduct 12-Lead EKG and recognize basic arrhythmias.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.
• Oversee arterial punctures and evaluate ventilation efficiency through testing.
• Document treatment details and patient responses in respiratory care records and charts.
• Communicate effectively with physicians about therapy efficiency and participate in shift-to-shift reporting.

Required Experience

Experience in patient respiratory care and proficiency with ventilatory equipment is required.

Certifications/Licensure

Current Respiratory Therapist license is required.
