RN Registered Nurse Medical PCU FT Nights Orlando

Location: 601 East Rollins Street, Orlando, FL 32803 Schedule: Full‑time, Nights 7:00pm–7:00am with rotating weekends Unit Overview PCU Medical is a 39‑bed palliative/supportive care unit focused on patients with complex conditions such as heart failure, diabetes, respiratory distress, sepsis, and other acute medical needs. The unit operates a team nursing model with a staffing ratio of 5 patients per nurse and offers specialized equipment including cardiac monitoring, telemetry, non‑invasive ventilation, pulse oximetry, and advanced IV pumps. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self‑care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
