Job Title Counselor — School Based Job ID: TA3-0000964 Job Details Start date: To be determined. Hours: Full time, Part time, or Per Diem. Job Responsibilities Provide support services to school‑age students. Meet regulated licensure and/or state certification requirements. Individual student academic program planning. Interpret cognitive, aptitude, and achievement tests. Provide counseling to students who are tardy or absent. Provide counseling to students who have disciplinary problems. Provide counseling to students regarding appropriate school dress. Collaborate with teachers to present school counseling core curriculum lessons. Analyze grade‑point averages in relationship to achievement. Interpret student records. Provide teachers with suggestions for effective classroom management. Ensure student records are maintained per state and federal regulations. Help the school principal identify and resolve student issues, needs, and problems. Provide individual and small‑group counseling services to students. Advocate for students at individual education plan meetings, student study teams, and school attendance review boards. Include research‑based instructional practices and strategies to prepare students for college and the workplace. Teach organizational skills across content areas for students. Expose students to colleges through tours, college student tutors, and guest speakers to motivate high‑school students to attend college and pursue careers. Promote college and career readiness skills through curriculum and instructional practices. Provide strategies to instill leadership skills in students through public speaking, small group activities, and community service activities. Align curriculum to Common Core State Standards, targeting college and career readiness. Promote critical thinking skills through research‑based instructional practices. Incorporate inquiry‑based research skills aligned to Common Core State Standards. Provide study skills and strategies in preparation for college. Qualifications 3+ years of experience preferred; new graduates considered. Must meet state licensing and/or certification requirements.
