Travel RN - Pediatric ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PICU position at a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience and working 12‑hour night shifts. Requirements Active WA state RN license or valid Compact RN license required Current BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required Proficiency in aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, suctioning, G‑tube/J‑tube management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, drip management, and Foley insertion and management CRRT experience with Prismax preferred CICU experience preferred Must be able to push scrub sleeves above the elbow; hooded shirts and long sleeves are not permitted At least one professional reference from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start Responsibilities Level II Trauma Center pediatric hospital setting in a newly opened facility with 16 PICU beds PICU unit serves a diverse pediatric patient population including respiratory (high flow, CPAP, BiPAP), trach, oncology/chemo, RSV, asthma, COVID, MIS‑C, new onset diabetes with insulin drips, chronically ill, and cardiovascular patients with congenital heart defects Surgical patients include appendectomies, G‑tubes, ENT, fresh trachs, bowel obstructions, fractures, VP shunts, cardiac, and neuro cases Trauma patients (Stat categories 1–4) include falls and MVAs; major burns, solid organ transplant, and stem cell transplant cases are not seen on this unit ECMO patients are managed by an ECMO specialist; CRRT is performed using the Prismax machine (low volume, typically assigned to core staff unless traveler has prior experience) PICU beds are interchangeable overflow with Med/Surg, with a mixed neuro, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and medical patient population 12‑hour night shifts (1900–0700), 36 hours per week Every other weekend rotation required Floating to Med/Surg or ED in a Helping Hands or Constant Observer capacity Epic EMR (experience preferred) First‑time travelers are welcome to apply Travelers with prior CRRT/Prismax experience may be trained to take CRRT patients, though volume is low and these assignments typically go to core staff In rare surge situations, the unit may provide care to patients up to age 30 Severe facial wounds, eye injuries, or penetrating trauma are transferred to a Level I Trauma Center Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Job ID: P-717060 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
