Raytheon is seeking a Senior Area Transformation Industrial Engineer to support production within the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, AZ to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and more. We hope you are as excited about this opportunity as we are.What You Will Do Responsibilities will focus primarily on supporting factory leadership, Strategic Business Unit partners, and peer organizations to advance Lean Transformation initiatives, identify strategic investment opportunities and lead critical projects benefiting the make centers:Partner closely with Factory Industrial Engineers and Program Industrial Engineers to create predictable manufacturing systems.Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics.Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities.Partner with project managers and factory support functions to improve modify the factory footprint and layout of factory equipment as needed.Support program contract proposals, business case development for future investments, supplier assessments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses.What You Will LearnIndustrial Engineering tools and methods used to build factory models to advance continuous improvement and future-state forecastingAspects of the Defense Industry and how to meet challenging mission requirements while also meeting cost, quality, and schedule targetsThe CORE Operating System and the CORE Common Methods used to align priorities and meet key business objectivesExecutive Presence and how to support leadership in making data driven decisions that result in measurable improvementsProject planning and project management techniques to deliver results and meet critical milestones supporting key business objectivesHow to influence and lead others working with high-performing cross functional teams and frontline operators and specialists who assemble, test, and deliver our products everydayStrategic planning and how to develop business proposals that generate returns on invested capital within the factoriesRaytheon’s Leadership Values and BehaviorsQualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR an applicable Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start dateBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar engineering disciplineExperience in the application of industrial engineering tools and methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process OptimizationThe ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearanceQualifications We PreferExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience/Education with factory layout and work cell design/optimizationExperience/Education with simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methodsExperience/Education with project managementExperience/Education with CAD softwareSix Sigma certificationsLeading teams and capable of influencing without authorityWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
