As a Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Specialist, you'll provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for Ohio's Hospice patients. You'll play an important role in helping patients get to and from appointments and other necessary services while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the journey.
Employment: Full-time
Schedule: 9:00 AM–9:00 PM
Location: Newark, Ohio

Safely operate and maintain a medical transportation vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate transportation services to Ohio's Hospice patients.
Assist patients as needed while prioritizing their safety, comfort, and dignity.
Complete transportation logs, documentation, and reports accurately and on time.
Work collaboratively with other team members and assist with activities across departments as needed to support comprehensive patient care.
Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities that promote and strengthen the quality of Ohio's Hospice services.
Support the onboarding and development of new team members by serving as a preceptor when requested.
Maintain positive and professional relationships with patients, families, caregivers, and coworkers.
Transportation is an important part of helping our patients access the care they need. In this role, you're not simply driving—you're providing reassurance, assistance, and compassionate support to patients and families during important moments in their care.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) training or Area Agency on Aging DRIVE training (provided in orientation)
- Computer skills sufficient to properly document services and care
- Ability to drive during daytime, nighttime or inclement weather.
- Valid Driver's License with Safe Driving Record
- State Minimum Automobile Insurance Coverage
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to pass a 10 panel drug screen
