Registered Nurse (RN) in Behavioral HealthThe position involves working in a behavioral health setting. Responsibilities include assessing patients' mental health status. This includes recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. Nurses will be responsible for taking thorough patient histories and observing behavior. Development of individualized care plans based on patients' needs is essential. The role includes administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions. Immediate crisis intervention support will be provided to patients in need. De-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management are key components of care. Building trust and rapport with patients through effective communication is crucial. The nurse will monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms. This includes vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects. Flexibility in scheduling is required, with coverage needed for three 12-hour shifts each day. Weekends are included in the schedule, and days off are not guaranteed unless specified. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is expected. Commitment to patient experience and adherence to ICARE values are important. The work environment prioritizes integrity, compassion, and respect. A comprehensive understanding of care policies and guidelines is necessary.
