The role requires a commitment to a rotational schedule, encompassing both day and night shifts. The unit is known for handling complex patient cases, including medicine, orthopedic overflow, and long-term care. Nurses will need to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in telemetry monitoring and patient care management. Responsibilities include the administration of blood products, central line care, and IV management. The ideal candidate should have skills in rapid response protocols, tracheostomy management, and wound care. This is a high-volume unit and will require flexibility to float to different areas. Every other weekend coverage is mandatory. This position involves care for patients with diverse diagnoses and varying needs. Additional skills needed include the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and non-invasive airway management. Nurses will utilize various equipment and technology integral to patient care. Candidates must adhere to isolation precautions and safety protocols while providing care.
