Job Details

• Role: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Nursing Contract
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,880 - $1,980
• Location: Rockford, IL 61104 (Rockford nursing jobs / Illinois travel nursing jobs)
• Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit (high-volume L&D, perinatal nursing)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 25, 2026 - August 22, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm - 7:30am), every other weekend and holiday
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit Details: 14 labor rooms, 3 triage/overnight observation rooms, 2 ORs, 3 PACUs, and a 4-bed OBED
• Average Deliveries: ~230 per month (opportunity for high-volume L&D experience)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a mid-to-large hospital setting (perinatal or high-volume L&D preferred)
• Active Illinois RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Proven experience with maternal-fetal monitoring, electronic documentation/EMR, and assisting with cesarean sections
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays as required by the travel contract

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring patients and their families across triage, labor, delivery, and postpartum settings
• Continuously monitor and assess maternal and fetal status (fetal monitoring, maternal hemodynamics) throughout labor and delivery
• Assist with routine and high-risk deliveries, including cesarean sections and emergency interventions
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary teams in a busy L&D unit
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure compliance with hospital policies and clinical best practices
• Support patients through triage, observation, postpartum recovery, and discharge education
