Forklift / Wheel Loader Operator

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of three years of heavy civil construction experience preferred
  
• Experience with forklift and wheel loader required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promotes, executes and adheres to the companys Health, Safety, and Environmental program.
• Operates construction equipment used in underground construction, base preparation and construction, and paving.
• Operates all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Performs daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Conducts pre-operational checks on equipment as well as cleans, lubricates, and refills the equipment as necessary. Fills out the pre-use inspection form prior to operating equipment.
• Maneuvers heavy equipment into loading and unloading positions. Follows signals from loading crew as needed. Checks that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
• Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
• Uses various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating and stockpiling.
• Operates equipment on public roadways as necessary, maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment.
• Performs other duties or tasks as required based on companys needs.
