Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor, Social Work - CRC Suicide Prevention Program. In this role, the successful candidate The Clinical Program Supervisor, CRC Suicide Prevention Program, provides clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for the CRC team serving patients at high risk for suicide. This position is responsible for oversight of a team of four supervisees, delivery and monitoring of high-quality suicide prevention services, and implementation of the organizations SAMHSA-funded Adult Suicide Prevention grant program. The Clinical Program Supervisor ensures that patient care, documentation, supervision, workflow, and reporting activities are conducted in accordance with organizational policies, evidence-based practices, grant requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. The Clinical Program Supervisor provides direct and indirect clinical oversight for patients with elevated suicide risk, supports crisis intervention and safety planning processes, promotes collaboration across disciplines and systems of care, and ensures that staff are equipped to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive, recovery-oriented services. Formal training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as Formal Training or willingness to be trained in CAMS, is preferred. Job Responsibilities Clinical Leadership and Patient Care Oversight Oversees clinical operations of the CRC team serving patients at high risk for suicide. Provides clinical supervision and consultation to a team of four supervisees. Ensures thorough initial and ongoing assessments are completed for patients served by the program. Oversees and supports delivery of crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, stabilization, and treatment planning. Ensures accurate and timely identification of suicide risk, warning signs, protective factors, and level-of-care needs. Performs and/or reviews accurate risk assessments in times of crisis. Ensures appropriate intervention and escalation when patients present with acute or imminent suicide risk. Contacts and coordinates with the appropriate level of care and support systems when clinically indicated. Involves family members and/or significant others collaterally when indicated and clinically appropriate. Makes referrals and requests for consultation when necessary. Ensures mandated reporting requirements, including child abuse/neglect reporting when indicated, are followed in accordance with policy and law. Maintains and monitors designated service volume and productivity expectations for the program. Involves clients as partners in care throughout the treatment planning process. Ensures treatment goals and objectives are operationalized and updated regularly to reflect course of treatment. Promotes culturally competent, trauma-informed, patient-centered care. Program Management and Grant Administration Leads implementation of the SAMHSA Adult Suicide Prevention grant in accordance with approved work plan, funding announcement requirements, program goals, and reporting timelines. Oversees development, implementation, and monitoring of program workflows designed to improve identification, engagement, treatment, and follow-up of adults at risk for suicide. Coordinates program activities to support grant deliverables, milestones, quality measures, and outcome reporting. Works collaboratively with leadership, clinical teams, quality improvement staff, and community partners to ensure successful implementation of grant-funded activities. Monitors program performance and supports continuous quality improvement efforts related to suicide prevention services. Assists in preparation and submission of required grant reports, program narratives, data requests, and other deliverables in collaboration with organizational leadership and relevant departments. Ensures grant-funded services are implemented with fidelity to evidence-based and best-practice approaches for suicide prevention. Supports development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and workflows related to suicide risk screening, assessment, intervention, referral, and follow-up care. Tracks barriers, identifies operational solutions, and escalates implementation issues as needed. Participates in meetings with internal and external stakeholders related to grant implementation and program performance. Supervision and Staff Development Meets routinely and makes self available to supervisees for clinical and administrative supervision. Provides supervisory consultation for clinicians and support staff on complex clinical cases, suicide risk management, documentation, workflow, and patient engagement. Reviews, co-signs, and provides feedback on documentation for unlicensed staff as applicable. Oversees supervisees quality and quantity of work and intervenes appropriately to support performance improvement. Reports status of supervisees and related issues to the Director and Vice President, as appropriate. Provides support, guidance, and training to staff in evidence-based suicide prevention practices. Provides in-service training for staff and demonstrates leadership in clinical and operational matters. Supports orientation and ongoing training of new staff, students, and interns assigned to the program. Provides support and training for social work student interns, as applicable. Provides supervisory coverage as needed when called upon. Utilizes supervisory consultation structure appropriately and escalates concerns through proper channels. Documentation, Compliance, and Quality Assurance Completes and ensures completion of all documentation in compliance with clinic, hospital, grant, and regulatory agency standards. Reviews medical records as required according to clinic policies. Submits and monitors charts for utilization review in accordance with clinic policies. Adheres to managed care requirements and complies with mandates in a timely fashion. Ensures accurate, timely, and complete documentation of suicide risk screenings, assessments, interventions, treatment plans, follow-up, and care coordination activities. Monitors compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and grant conditions. Supports data collection, documentation audits, and quality monitoring activities related to the suicide prevention program. Identifies areas for improvement and implements corrective actions in collaboration with leadership. Care Coordination and Collaboration Provides information and referrals to assist clients with resources and support systems. Coordinates with outpatient providers, crisis services, inpatient units, emergency departments, primary care, behavioral health, and community-based organizations to ensure continuity of care. Meets regularly with designated treatment team and follows up on issues in a timely manner. Follows up with clinical care on a continuous and timely basis. Participates in organizational meetings, interdisciplinary case conferences, and program planning meetings. Attends and/or leads required meetings and is responsible for follow-up of directives given at meetings. Takes initiative in committee meetings and follows through in a timely manner. Leadership and Operational Effectiveness Demonstrates positive organizational skills and effective program leadership. Demonstrates creative and critical thinking related to clinical and operational problem-solving. Shows ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands effectively. Supports development of workflows that improve patient access, engagement, retention, and safety. Monitors team operations to ensure timely follow-up, crisis response, and continuity of services. Assists in development and maintenance of program schedules, staffing coverage, and operational processes. Provides leadership in implementing best practices related to suicide prevention, safety planning, means safety counseling, care transitions, and follow-up engagement. Helps foster a collaborative, supportive, and accountable team culture. Participates in organizational and departmental performance improvement initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Position-Specific Responsibilities Oversees daily operations of the CRC suicide prevention team consisting of four supervisees. Ensures staff are trained and supported in working with adults at high risk for suicide and other behavioral health crises. Supports implementation of evidence-based interventions relevant to suicide prevention; DBT-informed or DBT-based clinical approaches are strongly valued. Incorporates suicide-specific, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented principles into program operations and staff development. Collaborates with data, quality, finance, and leadership teams to support successful grant implementation and sustainability planning. Assists with community outreach, partnership development, and linkage strategies consistent with program goals. Participates in program evaluation activities and supports use of data to inform clinical and operational improvements. Promotes equitable access and culturally responsive care for diverse patient populations. Minimum Qualifications To qualify you must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology with current New York State license as a Psychologist; or Masters Degree in Social Work with current New York State license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Minimum of five (5) years of related clinical mental health experience, including experience working with high-risk behavioral health populations. Demonstrated experience in suicide risk assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, and management of high-risk adult patients. Experience supervising licensed and/or unlicensed clinical staff. Experience with clinical documentation, utilization review, compliance standards, and interdisciplinary care coordination. Willingness to devote the time required to complete assigned tasks on schedule. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire and must be maintained..
