The Maintenance Technician assists plant operations in running efficiently with minimal downtime. This position has a work schedule of Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning, with overtime as required and maybe needed including weekends.ResponsibilitiesKEY TASKSEnsures operation of electrical and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on hydraulic, pneumatic, gas, acid, water, coolant systems, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.Completes or updates all maintenance related documentation according to sites document control procedure: work orders, reports, requisitions, PM tasks, maintenance manuals, and writing procedures, single point lessons, scopes of work and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as needed or instructed.Condition monitoring- locates sources of problems by observing devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments, initiate corrective actions to prevent unscheduled downtime.Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspectingTroubleshooting malfunctions- selects logical approach to "troubleshooting", repair problems, and write detailed explanation on cause of malfunction used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrumentsControls downtime by informing Maintenance Supervisor and production Manager of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring complianceMaintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by following parts check out procedure; checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders (as needed); verifying receiptConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsProvides maintenance information by answering questions and requestsPrepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trendsInstallation of machinery: leveling, aligning, testing, and debuggingProvide troubleshooting of Mechanical and Electrical devices and equipmentProvide input for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematicsAssist in training across functionsRemoves defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, lifts, and hand and power tools; examining of partsOther duties as maybe deemed necessary.QualificationsSkills and ExperienceMust be able to work under high pressure, continuous production environment with high standardsMaintains a safe and clean work environment adhering to 6S standards and all safety procedures while working efficiently to complete daily and weekly work schedules on time.Five years of prior work experience within an industrial/manufacturing environment, resolving equipment maintenance issues, technical understanding, deals with uncertainty, safety, power tools, attention to detail, flexibility, supervision, job knowledge, productivityAble to use general hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, straightedges, and rigging, operate power truck, man-lift, other mobile equipmentPrecision alignment, cutting, welding, brazing, heating and soldering are necessary job skillsAsset care continuous improvementBe able to work collaboratively and effectively with others as part of a teamBe willing to learn, grow, and improve their job skills, strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and active listening skills, Must possess complex problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and ability to work long hours in a standing positionMust be willing to work a rotating schedule including overtime as needed to meet Production Goals that includes nights, weekends and holidays.Must have good command of the English language including reading, writing, and speaking.All candidates must be at least 18 years of age or older to apply for this role.
