Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow Behavioral Health

Job Overview Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Fellow to join the Behavioral Health team. The role is full‑time day shift, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, with a rotating weekend. Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available for qualified external applicants. Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow, you will communicate effectively with patients, families, team members and medical providers. You will create a collaborative team working environment while displaying respect for and an understanding of various clinical disciplines. Using a focused and integrated approach toward improving desired patient outcomes and patient experience is of vital importance. Your participation in learning new knowledge, developing new skills and meeting program objectives to practice in assigned patient care delivery settings while utilizing and applying new knowledge is essential. Demonstrating a willingness to learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various training formats is required. Minimum Qualifications A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. Education: BSN or ADN – if ADN, complete BSN within 5 years of start date. BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required. Registered Nurse licensed and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, a caring demeanor, and proficient computer skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous acute care experience (med/surg, PCU, ICU) strongly preferred. Benefits Medical, dental and vision coverage along with a robust team member wellness program.
