Full job description In accordance with agency Mission, Vision, Values and Goals, the Therapist provides therapy to individuals with co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders in the program with services funded by the Jackson County Community Health Fund. This includes individual therapy and group therapy/education; in addition to community support services; arranges and coordinates assessments of the individual's need for treatment and rehabilitation; coordinates and monitors service and support activities. The Therapist functions as the primary contact for individuals assigned, as well as for other agencies, within the framework of a team model. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides Individual therapy to assigned caseload of clients for addressing co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Therapy services may include individual and group services on mental health awareness, relapse prevention, behavioral health, relationships, boundaries, healthy communication, emotional awareness, etc. using a variety of evidence‑based practices. (Agency is DBT based and teaches a core curriculum to residents.) Assists assigned clients in gaining access to resources, both internal and external, including, but not limited to, rehabilitative, medical, social, educational, and psychiatric (as clinically appropriate). Will meet all productivity requirements. Appropriately documents all clinical/program activities according to quality standards as outlined by agency policy and the Department of Mental Health regulations. All documentation must be in the electronic medical record within 48 hours of providing service. Conducts program defined clinical assessments and treatment plans with adults who are affected by behavioral health and substance use disorder. Clinical assessments include, but are not limited to: brief evaluations, and diagnostic formulation, family assessment, treatment plans renewals. Assessments and treatment plan will be completed for assigned caseload within 10 days of admission into program. Serves as a vital treatment team member, the primary service provider and contact person for assigned clients. Acts as a liaison to Missouri Probation & Parole, service organizations and programs on behalf of assigned clients. Participates in treatment team to coordinate services and conducts treatment planning/reviews for assigned adults in a clinically appropriate fashion meeting required standards for content and timelines. Participates in and meets ethical/agency standards regarding all treatment and documentation practices, Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) procedures, utilization management, and program/client outcomes. Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/procedures 100% of the time. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS Provides consultation/education for community. Serves on task teams and committees as requested. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or closely related field. Experience: A minimum of two year experience, or two semesters of supervised practicum experience, in mental health therapy from an accredited university. Practicum experience which includes therapy. Experience working with Substance Use Disorder individuals. Additional requirements: Basic understanding of medication used in the recovery process. Licensure: LMSW, LCSW, LPC or PLPC Special Skills: Interviewing Assessment Crisis Intervention Therapeutic interventions - Preferred training in DBT, PTSD, CBT, Trauma‑Informed, Co‑Occurring Listening/communication – oral and written Establishing rapport in professional relationships Goal‑directed treatment planning Organization/time management Case management Knowledge of community resources REQUIREMENTS Providers must have at least 1- 2 years of experience working with substance use disorder/ mental health. Must maintain current license and complete all required continuing education in order to maintain that license. DEGREE OF SUPERVISION: Licensed/Certified Professional: Weekly supervision with direct supervisor or other licensed/certified professional for one (1) month following hire; and monthly supervision thereafter for the duration of the provider's probationary period. POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Position does not require supervision of other staff, however, the Licensed and/or Certified Professional may opt to provide Licensure/Certification Supervision for licensure/certification candidates through mutual agreement of both parties and separate from Benilde Hall oversight or regulation (see Licensure Supervision Plan). #J-18808-Ljbffr
