Interventional Radiology Technologist

Role Overview: Performs and assists in cardiac, neuro, body, and vascular-interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal imaging quality. Responsible for preparing, administering medications, documenting radiation exposure, and evaluating images for diagnostic purposes. Maintains sterile techniques, monitors hemodynamic data, and operates imaging and monitoring equipment. Key Responsibilities: Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and prepare for exams while respecting confidentiality. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles. Administer medications via vascular access, evaluate image quality, and ensure proper data transfer and storage. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers; assist or perform diagnostic and interventional procedures. Maintain intra-arterial access, perform manual hemostasis, and operate physiological monitoring devices. Implement ACLS protocols as needed, practice sterile techniques, and record hemodynamic data. Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in all assigned duties. Qualifications & Skills: Certification by ARRT-R with advanced certification in ARRT-VI, CI, or CV for Interventional Radiology. For Cardiology, graduation from an accredited program or ARRT certification with RCIS, plus ACLS certification. PALS required on specific campuses.
