BMR Health Services is seeking Paraprofessionals in Pacifica, CA, USA.

The Special Education Paraprofessional provides instructional, behavioral, and personal support to students with disabilities under the supervision of a credentialed Special Education Teacher and school administration. The paraprofessional assists in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and helps create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group instructional support to students with special needs.
• Assist teachers in implementing IEP goals and classroom accommodations.
• Support students with academic assignments and classroom activities.
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the direction of school staff.
• Monitor and document student behavior, attendance, and progress.
• Assist students with communication, social skills, and daily living activities as needed.
• Provide supervision during recess, lunch, field trips, and transitions between classes.
• Assist students with mobility, toileting, feeding, or other personal care duties when required.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and parents to support student success.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and school policies.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or completion of 48 college semester units preferred (or as required by the hiring school or state).
• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or special education setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and families.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Emotional Disturbance (ED), or other developmental disabilities.
• ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) experience is a plus.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or behavior management training preferred.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Required Clearances

• DOJ/FBI Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
• TB clearance.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification (if required by the school district).
