Local CDL Class A Driver

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class A CDL driver for a full-time, local intermodal position based in Harrisburg, Pa. The driver will primarily haul containers from the Norfolk Southern Harrisburg rail yard to customers throughout the surrounding region.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position with weekly pay based on a 50/50 split of the truck's settlement, including the fuel surcharge. The driver will operate a company-owned automatic Freightliner Cascadia. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable driver looking for consistent local work while being home daily.

Responsibilities:

Pick up and deliver intermodal containers safely and on time
Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and rail-yard personnel
Maintain accurate paperwork and delivery documentation
Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety requirments

Keep the truck clean and report maintenance concerns promptly

Qualifications:

Valid Class A CDL
Minimum of two years of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
Intermodal and rail-yard experience strongly preffered
Current DOT medical card
Acceptable motor vehicle record
Ability to pass required drug screening and background checks
Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to communicate consistently
