Medical Assistant or Specialty LPN

Find your calling at Mercy! Medical Assistant will assist the physician and office staff with performance of patient care activities consistent with the established standards of nursing practice. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his or her responsibilities and integrate into his or her work ethic the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he or she has responsibility. In communicating with patients, families, visitors and co-workers, a caring, friendly, personal and professional
approach is expected.

Specialty LPN utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Position Details:

MA Qualifications:

Medical Assistant:

• Education: Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: None.
• New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.

Certified Medical Assistant:

• Education: Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.
• Certification: Must actively maintain MA certification.

Specialty LPN Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
