Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Progressive Care Unit position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and NIHSS certification.

Job Details

• 18-bed Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT unit, including 4 epilepsy monitoring beds,
• Patient population includes stroke, tumors, epilepsy, spine injury, neuromuscular and neurodegenerative conditions, neurotrauma, CNS infections, and ENT malignancies,
• Unit currently under a pilot program with a mixed step-down and acute care population, with assignments of up to 5 patients,
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm,
• 36 hours per week over three 12-hour shifts,
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required,
• No on-call requirements,
• May be required to serve in a charge or precepting role nearly every shift,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license,
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC),
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required,
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred,
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required,
• Experience with charge nurse duties and precepting required,
• Skilled in care of patients with complex problems, discharge planning, and prioritizing care,
