Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 24 months of current psych/behavioral health experience required License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) required; de-escalation certificate preferred Must-Have: 24 months of experience in Psych/BH capacity required Experience with all Geri patients required Charge experience required EPIC experience required Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Behavioral Health specialty. This position involves caring for patients in a psych/behavioral health setting. The nurse will be responsible for a patient ratio that can be up to 1:9. Scrub colors will be grey. The position requires the nurse to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming holidays unless the unit is closed. A de-escalation certificate such as MOAB, MAB, CPI, or SAMA is preferred and can be obtained during onboarding. Professional references from a charge, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO evaluation within the last 24 months are preferred. A valid Driver’s License is required. The position also mandates adherence to a weekend schedule of every third weekend. The nurse should demonstrate effective de-escalation skills and charge experience.
