Job Title: CNC Swiss Setup Machinist

Position Summary :

A leading precision machining company, is seeking a skilled and detail

oriented CNC Swiss Setup Machinist to join their team. As a CNC Swiss Setup Machinist, you will play a vital role in the setup, operation, and maintenance of our advanced CNC

controlled machining equipment. You will work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure the highest quality parts are manufactured efficiently and accurately.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a CNC Swiss Setup Machinist, your role will be crucial in the efficient and accurate operation of CNC Swiss machines. You will work closely with the production team and follow engineering specifications to set up, operate, and maintain the equipment.
• Machine Setup: Perform machine setups by loading raw materials, selecting and installing appropriate tooling, and making necessary programming adjustments on CNC Swiss machines.
• Operation: Operate CNC Swiss machines to produce precision machined metal and plastic parts according to blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements.

Monitor machine operations, ensuring optimal performance, and make adjustments as necessary.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks using precision measuring

instruments (such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges) to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Identify and address any deviations from specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine issues, including tool wear,

programming errors, or mechanical malfunctions. Apply problem-solving skills to

minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Process Optimization: Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes, improve productivity, and meet production targets.

Provide insights and suggestions for continuous improvement.
• Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to established safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC Swiss machines to ensure their proper functioning.
• Documentation: Accurately document setup and production information, including programming details, tooling selections, measurement data, and any deviations or adjustments made during the process. Maintain detailed records for traceability and future reference.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in CNC machining is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Swiss Setup Machinist or a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of CNC Swiss machines and their operation.
• CNC Machining Skills: Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC Swiss machines, including loading materials, adjusting tooling, and programming. Familiarity with CNC programming languages and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Precision Measurement: Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to ensure accurate part dimensions and tolerances.
• Lathe Experience (Swiss Preferred): Experience and proficiency in operating and setting up lathe machines, with a particular emphasis on Swiss-style lathes. Familiarity with the unique characteristics and requirements of Swiss machining processes.
• G&M Code: Strong knowledge and understanding of G-code and M-code

programming languages used in CNC machining. Ability to read, interpret, and modify G-code programs for specific machining operations.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T): Knowledge of GD&T principles and the ability to interpret geometric tolerances on technical drawings. Understanding the impact of GD&T on machining processes and the ability to ensure compliance with specified tolerances.
• Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machine issues, such as tool wear or programming errors. Ability to make adjustments and perform maintenance tasks to optimize machine performance.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to maintain high-quality standards and ensure precision in machining operations.
• Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address issues that may arise during setup or operation. Ability to think critically and make decisions independently or as part of a team.
• Communication and Collaboration: Good communication skills to effectively

collaborate with the engineering and production teams, share insights, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
