Community Engagement Coordinator

About the Role This is a full-time role at the center of how Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers connects with the community. You'll manage our volunteer program, support fundraising and events, handle donor data and gift processing, and assist with grant writing and reporting. It's a varied role that suits someone who is equally comfortable building relationships with volunteers and sitting down to enter gifts accurately in a database. You'll be a key part of a small, collaborative staff team doing real work in the communities we serve. What You'll Do Volunteer Coordination (30-40%) Actively recruit volunteers from the community, including individuals, faith groups, civic organizations, schools, and businesses Manage the volunteer application and onboarding process, including conducting background checks for all volunteers working in the field Lead volunteer orientations and coordinate role-specific training with program and ReStore staff Schedule and coordinate volunteers across all areas: Critical Home Repair teams, new home construction, ReStore, and office support Maintain accurate volunteer records including hours, contact information, and assignments Plan and execute our annual Volunteer Appreciation Event Develop recognition practices that make volunteers feel valued and keep them coming back Manage volunteer-focused communications including recruitment outreach, scheduling updates, and a regular volunteer newsletter Development & Data (30-40%) Manage donor data entry and gift processing in Little Green Light, our donor management system Prepare and send timely, accurate gift acknowledgment letters Assist with donor communications including our email newsletter and direct mail appeals Help plan and execute our two signature fundraising events: the Spring Walk to Build and the Love to Build Online Art Auction; responsibilities include logistics, vendor coordination, registration, volunteer support, and post-event follow-up Support general fundraising operations and help track progress toward annual goals Grants & Communications (20-30%) Assist with grant research, writing, and reporting under the direction of the Executive Director Help compile program data, outcomes, and narrative content for grant applications and reports Support general organizational communications including social media, e-newsletter, and website updates as needed Operations & Administration (10-20%) Manage day-to-day office functions including correspondence, supply ordering, and general administrative support for the Executive Director Maintain organized filing systems, physical and digital, for organizational records Support board meeting preparation including materials, scheduling, and minute-taking as needed Assist with other organizational needs as they come up in a small, busy shop What We're Looking For Required: Experience with a donor management system (examples include Little Green Light, Bloomerang, Salesforce, or similar); we use Little Green Light and will provide training for the right candidate Experience in volunteer coordination, community outreach, or a related field Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly for multiple audiences Detail-oriented and accurate, especially when entering data and handling donor records Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously Able to work independently and take initiative without waiting to be told what to do Comfortable working with people from a wide range of backgrounds Discreet and trustworthy with donor and organizational information Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace Preferred: Experience with Little Green Light specifically Prior nonprofit experience, particularly in a development, volunteer management, or administrative support role Experience with grant writing or grant reporting Event planning or coordination experience Familiarity with Habitat for Humanity's model and mission Compensation and Benefits Salary: $50,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers offers a comprehensive benefits package, flexibility in work schedule, and a strong commitment to professional development.
