University Courier & Print Shop Assistant ClosingDate: Job Duties: The University Courier & Print Shop Assistant will perform avariety of courier and delivery duties, utilizing a motor vehicleas necessary to ensure the proper distribution of mail, materials,and supplies. Additionally, the individual will assist withprint-related tasks, including operating digital printingequipment, laminators, cutters, and miscellaneous finishingequipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Open, sort, and deliver incoming mail and intercampus mail on adaily schedule; sort, fold, seal, and meter outgoing mail; pick-upand deliver packages and other related materials and/or supplies asassigned. Ensure outgoing mail postage expense is charged to individualdepartments in an accurate manner. Perform periodic inventory reconciliation of mail-relatedsupply items and postage. Follow USPS guidelines to ensure all postal procedures andpolicies are followed correctly. Operate a variety of print shop equipment, including bindery,folder, paper drill, cutter, staplers, laminators, etc. Assist with folding, inserting, and processing print jobs andorders for both internal and external customers. Assist with large format print jobs, including artwork wet-upand related finishing tasks. Assist with supply inventory, including the organization ofincoming materials and the ordering of replacement materials. Perform special errands and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: This type of work requires the ability to understand and followoral and written instructions generally acquired through a partialhigh school education. Must have a clean driving record and able to pass backgroundcheck. Ability to maintain confidentiality and high ethicalstandards. Ability to use and operate a computer and associated standardoffice software (Microsoft Office products and relatedsoftware). Ability to provide effective and responsive service toUniversity departments. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively. Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonalskills. Ability to operate various vehicles related to the delivery ofmail and packages, including motorized vehicles, carts, handtrucks, pallet jack, etc. Must be able to lift over 50 pounds often and over 75 poundsoccasionally and the ability to stand and walk for extended periodsof time QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Knowledge of U.S. Postal Services regulations and laws andfamiliarity with mail room operations and procedures, along withthe use of postal meters. WORKING CONDITIONS: Daily travel to deliver mail, supplies, and other requesteddeliveries Must be able to occasionally adjust or move objects up to 50pounds in all directions; Occasionally tasked with moving objectsup to 75 pounds Must be able to pull/push heavy objects using a hand truck asneeded Ability to crouch, kneel, bend, reach above head, andascend/descend a ladder Frequently tasked with repeating motions that may includewrists, hands, and/or fingers Occasionally uses printing machinery as a drill press, cuttingmachine, and laminator as needed Frequently uses near vision for tasks involving computers,reading small print, etc. Frequently uses far vision for the ability to see a person or object Occasionally exposed to noisy environments when usingmachinery Salary Schedule: Salary Range: $33,070 – $49,605 ; with the midpoint at $41,337(Annualized Rate) To view salary schedules visit: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
