Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Contract

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Facility: MetroHealth Main Campus

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Start Date: June 14, 2026

Shift: Days | 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Schedule: 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend & Holiday Rotation

Position Overview


MetroHealth Main Campus is seeking a qualified and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join its Respiratory Therapy team on a contract assignment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


This role is responsible for providing respiratory therapy services as prescribed by provider orders while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory therapy treatments and interventions in accordance with physician orders.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients requiring respiratory care services.
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and other respiratory treatments.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize clinical judgment to identify and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Active Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) License required prior to start date.
• Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience.
• Experience using Epic EMR preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.

Candidates should be comfortable working with:

• Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Pyxis Medication Management System
• Hospital Network Applications

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move throughout the workday.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods as needed.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in environments with exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and healthcare-related chemicals.
• Must possess sufficient visual, auditory, and manual dexterity to perform job duties safely and effectively.
