Portfolio Construction Manager

Portfolio Construction Manager Responsible for implementation of recommended investment strategies in client portfolios. Assists in managing client assets—including cash, equities, fixed income, and private investments—while acting as liaison with relationship managers. Implements investment programs approved by BBH portfolio managers and BBH’s Investment Research Group, performs trade sizing, pre‑trade compliance, post‑trade reviews, and ensures accuracy relative to each client’s Investment Policy Statement. Supports one‑to‑one trades, specialty trades (e.g., control‑person trades), tax strategies (annual tax‑loss harvesting), and Centralized Portfolio Implementation (CPI) initiatives that include equity and fixed‑income trade execution, unilaterally implementing asset‑allocation changes, monitoring and correcting portfolio drift, and deploying cash across client portfolios. Key Responsibilities Implement equity strategies across accounts based on account‑level coding and client restrictions; perform variance checks on SMA trades and trade block reviews. Represent and explain portfolio implementation services to relationship teams. Manage and invest discretionary cash from subscriptions, redemptions, and changes in Investment Policy Statements in line with client guidelines. Execute CPI investments or divestitures in alignment with RM expectations and client Investment Policy Statements. Rebalance accounts in a tax‑efficient and prudent manner to remain in line with the clients’ Investment Policy Statements. Review account codings and restriction requests to ensure alignment with investment objectives; perform account coding review for all allocations. Lead the daily operational workflow: define goals, communicate objectives, monitor team performance, document procedures, and maintain risk control self‑assessment (RCSA) records. Record and document errors in the firmwide E&O database (FRED) and ensure team compliance with BBH policies. Mentor team members to enhance their skills and support their career growth. Problem‑solve, evaluate options, and take initiative while considering impact on the team and organization. Develop strong interpersonal relationships with team and front‑office staff; articulate clear vision and goals that align with investment implementation support pillars. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. 7+ years of experience in Financial Services with at least 3+ years in Portfolio Management. 3+ years of managerial experience. Charles River experience required. Prior trading and/or portfolio implementation experience. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Location & Compensation Based in New York City, hybrid role with a minimum of three days per week in office. Salary Range: $110,000–$150,000 base salary plus annual bonus.
