We are looking for a Specialist, Project Controller to join our Program Management Department to provide the management of specific project portfolio control processes in support of both the delivery of new devices and current field operational systems. The individual will support the Project Management Office (PMO) from a schedule, demand/capacity, Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and project financial analysis perspective. The successful candidate will be a proactive, service oriented individual with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This is the ideal opportunity for an established Project Controller to take their career to the next level. The Project Controller will report to our Director of Program Management.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and updating program plans for various L3Harris commercial aviation training systems under development.
- Using industry standard Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools for system administration, project portfolio analysis, reporting, demand/capacity resource planning and time tracking integration.
- Controlling project and portfolio setup, resource pool management and system change management.
- Partnering with Program Managers to analyze information relating to performance (cost, schedule and risk), monitor and report progress against plans, identify portfolio trends, analyze and interpret data while ensuring all data and information are accurate.
- Supporting the resource loading of our schedules and analyzing resource requirements needed to achieve schedules and milestones.
Essential Skills and Experience Including Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Includes experience in PPM Administration and project portfolio analysis, schedule resource loading/leveling and demand capacity planning across all projects using MS Project Online, MS Project Server or other PPM software.
- Experience controlling multiple, high value technical projects in a complex matrixed production organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Self-motivated and able to work through complex problems in a team environment.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree in an appropriate field of study
- PMP or other appropriate PMI certification(s).
- Practical experience of gate review processes to assess the health and maturity of programs
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology
- Experience working with Confluence, Jira, SharePoint and/or SAP software
- Data analysis experience using Power BI
