The prospective employee will provide Dental Hygiene duties and provide support which will include all clinical activities needed for the inmate population at the FCI Bastrop. Location: Federal Correctional Institution Bastrop; 1341 N. State Highway 95, Bastrop, TX, 78602. Pay Rate: $112,967.20 per year. Sign-on bonus: $15,000 with a two-year commitment. Qualifications: Minimum of three years of experience is preferred yet not required. Dental Hygienist license from the State of Texas and/or board certification. Dental radiology certification required. Anesthesia certification preferred, not required. Duties: Provide dental prophylaxis, other preventive oral health services, and other periodontal services on inmates. Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions for each patient. Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis. Complete necessary dental x-rays as specified by the dentist. Provides oral health care services such as suture removal, administration of local anesthetic, and other services (if trained). Sterilize instruments used for prophylaxis and other instruments as specified by the dental staff. Oversee health services’ housekeeping and infection control procedures. Perform necessary paperwork related to scheduling patients for dental prophylaxis as directed by the dental staff. Track scheduling of patient care. Ability to collect and track data and enter data into the agency’s electronic system. Must have knowledge and experience in maintaining medical records and confidentiality.
