Job Description

We are seeking qualified candidates for a respiratory therapist position. This role involves working in an acute care community hospital setting, providing care for a diverse patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory treatments including nebulizers, cough assist, and high flow oxygen.
• Assist with intubations and bronchoscopy procedures.
• Manage mechanical ventilation and in-house transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
• Provide care in the pediatric ER and pediatrics with demonstrated competency.
• Perform airway management, medication administration, and pulmonary hygiene.

Department Details

This position is located in a 300-bed acute care hospital with various departments, including:

• Emergency Room
• Adult Medical/Surgical
• Adult Critical Care

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 1 year of respiratory care experience.
• Proficiency with Epic charting system.
• Experience in trauma and community hospital settings.
• Airway management, medication administration, and ventilator management.
• Experience with adult critical care and trauma preferred, as well as pediatric competencies.

Certifications and Licenses

• Required: BLS, active NH state license (must hold a valid state license to qualify for a temporary NH license).
• Preferred: ACLS, PALS, CRTT, RRT.

Work Environment

The ideal candidate will contribute to a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. Weekend shifts are required, and there is potential for floating between units based on the needs of the hospital.

Additional Information

Compliance requirements include passing background checks and drug screenings as mandated by facility policies. Exemptions for flu vaccinations are only available for medical or religious reasons.
