In-House Counsel

POSITION OVERVIEW

Fidelity National Financial, Inc. (NYSE:FNF), a Fortune 500 company, is the United States' largest provider of commercial and residential mortgage and diversified services. Fidelity National Financial (NYSE: FNF) Family of Companies, is looking for an Attorney to join our Claims Counsel team in either our Omaha, Nebraska or Jacksonville, Florida Claims Centers.

LOCATION

This position would be an in-office position located in either our Omaha, Nebraska or Jacksonville, Florida Claims Center.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Investigating the facts and issues of a claim, including but not limited to communicating with title officers, escrow officers, lenders, claimants, and other counsel
• Determining whether coverage exists and evaluating loss under the title policy
• Developing and carrying out a plan to resolve the claim
• Negotiate settlements and resolutions with claimants, opposing counsels, and third parties
• Directing outside counsel on litigation strategy through the course of claim administration and litigation
• Appear as company representative in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement conferences
• Managing the claim budget, review and approve outside counsel invoices and other expenses, and determine settlement and expense reserves
• Identify and pursue sources for recovery

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, business partners, and colleagues.
• Current 3L law students expected to graduate in 2027 and sit for the Fall 2027 bar examination are encouraged to apply.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, or eligible to obtain licensure upon successful completion of the Fall 2027 bar examination.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, client service, and collaboration.

Starting Pay - $100,000 a year
