Staff - Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice - $74K-88K per year

Job Overview Gentiva is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for Hospice & Palliative Care in Marion, Ohio. The position is ongoing and full‑time staff. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families, guiding them through the hospice journey. Deliver skilled nursing care and document care based on individualized plans, whether in patients’ homes, assisted living facilities, or other settings. Perform initial and ongoing assessments, monitor patient condition, and adjust care plans accordingly. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—physicians, LPNs, CNAs, social workers, chaplains—to develop and refine patient care plans. Provide emotional, physical, and spiritual support to patients and loved ones, including education and bereavement guidance. Teach caregivers safe and confident self‑care practices, offering practical training. Communicate patient condition updates to the care team to ensure timely interventions. Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date clinical documentation and adhere to infection control and compliance standards. Support quality improvement and scheduling initiatives to ensure consistent, compassionate care. Help patients and families navigate medication administration, hospice philosophy, symptom and pain management, and end‑of‑life processes. Qualifications Education: Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Experience: Minimum one year as an RN in acute care, oncology, long‑term care, hospice, or home health. Hospice or palliative care experience preferred. Licensing & Certifications: Current state nursing license. CPR certification. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of terminally ill patients and hospice care principles. Proficiency with nursing assessment tools and documentation systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all socioeconomic backgrounds. Understanding of managed care principles, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and compliance standards.
