As a Supply Chain Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing the enterprise systems that power procurement and supply chain operations across Duke.

This position serves as a key liaison between Supply Chain Operations, Information Technology, Finance, suppliers, and end users to ensure the effective performance, integration, and continuous improvement of business-critical systems. You will analyze complex processes, resolve technical issues, support supplier integrations, oversee electronic transactions, and contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

The role combines several disciplines, including business analysis, systems administration, application support, quality assurance, project coordination, technical troubleshooting, training, and subject matter expertise. Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related computer field.

Experience

Four years of progressive programming or database administration experience, including:

• Database design and implementation
• Database performance tuning
• Backup and recovery processes
• Database modification and reorganization
• Support of relational databases within complex computing environments

OR An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise procurement and supply chain systems.
• Experience supporting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environments and eProcurement platforms.
• Experience troubleshooting system integrations and transaction processing issues.
• Experience managing supplier onboarding and supplier integrations.
• Experience providing Tier 2 application and technical support.
• Strong background in database analysis, data validation, reporting, and performance monitoring.
• Experience working with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions.

What You'll Do

As a Supply Chain Systems Analyst, you will provide technical leadership and operational support for critical procurement and supply chain systems while driving continuous improvement across integrated business processes.

• Support Enterprise Procurement Systems
• Oversee and analyze Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) gateway operations.
• Monitor purchase order and invoice transmissions to suppliers and trading partners.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve EDI processing failures and transaction issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve transaction processing, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Manage eProcurement Solutions
• Serve as a key member of the eProcurement Catalog Marketplace team.
• Support catalog integrations, XML transmissions, and supplier content updates.
• Troubleshoot marketplace connectivity and transaction issues.
• Ensure the stability and effectiveness of Duke's eProcurement ecosystem.
• Provide Technical & Operational Support
• Evaluate, prioritize, and respond to ServiceNow tickets assigned to Supply Chain support groups.
• Deliver Tier 2 technical support for procurement and supply chain applications.
• Establish and promote best practices for issue resolution and customer support.
• Analyze recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions.
• Monitor Data Integrity & System Performance
• Monitor and resolve IDoc exceptions and inbound transaction discrepancies.
• Investigate issues involving units of measure, quantities, and transaction processing.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across integrated systems.
• Perform advanced data management and systems analysis activities to support operational excellence.
• Support Supplier Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Lead the onboarding and integration of EDI suppliers.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve data and transaction issues.
• Build strong partnerships with Supply Chain Operations, Information Technology, Finance, and departmental customers.
• Partner with management and end users to identify, test, and deploy system enhancements.
• Train, Document & Improve Processes
• Develop and maintain training materials, operational procedures, and system documentation.
• Collaborate with training teams to deliver effective user education and communication.
• Share subject matter expertise to support adoption of new processes and technologies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and service quality.
• Support Security & Technology Administration
• Review and approve SAP security access requests.
• Evaluate system access requirements for supply chain-managed platforms.
• Assist with technology inventory management, including hardware ordering and tracking activities.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $62,331.00 to USD $132,050.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
