Direct Support Professional

Overview Venture Community Services provides support to individuals facing diverse challenges through a compassionate and dedicated workforce using innovative practices that encourage independence, empowerment, and opportunity. Job Type Full‑time Position Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP empowers clients to be as active in their lives as they can. Support needs include household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and more. The DSP also assists with medical appointments, banking, community participation, outings, administering medication, following behavior support plans, individual support plans and goals, and adhering to medical guidelines. Schedule and Compensation Schedule: Sun 7 am‑3 pm, Sat 8 am‑4 pm (16 hours per week) Pay: $17.50‑$19.00 per hour; paid training provided Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 for full‑time employees, $500 for part‑time employees Training and Certification DSP workers receive paid New Employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) training, plus home‑based program and person‑specific training. Workers must maintain certifications, comply with agency policies, follow all DDS regulations, and be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.
