The Quality Assurance Specialist owns the coordination, investigation, and timely closure of customer, DCMA, and internal corrective actions. This position addresses a critical business risk by preventing unresolved findings and corrective actions from delaying manufacturing activities. The role works across Quality, Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Contracts, and Program Management to identify root causes, implement sustainable corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own customer and Defense Contract Management Agency corrective action requests from initial receipt through approved closure.
• Lead or facilitate structured root cause investigations using appropriate methods such as 5 Why, fishbone analysis, fault tree analysis, or 8D.
• Coordinate corrective action assignments, due dates, supporting evidence, and cross functional follow through.
• Evaluate proposed corrective actions for adequacy and verify implementation and effectiveness before recommending or approving closure within delegated authority.
• Identify recurring or systemic issues and escalate them to the Quality Systems and Process Specialist and Quality leadership for broader process improvement.
• Conduct internal quality system and process audits with emphasis on corrective action compliance and effectiveness.
• Issue audit findings, initiate corrective actions, place affected work or material on hold, and require containment when authorized by the Quality Management System.
• Support development and revision of procedures and processes related to nonconformance, corrective action, and audit response.
• Maintain accurate corrective action logs, status reports, objective evidence, and closure records.
• Analyze corrective action, aging recurrence, and closure performance and communicate risks, priorities, and overdue actions to responsible leaders.
• Support customer source inspection and regulatory review activities related to findings and corrective actions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
• Three to five years of quality assurance corrective action auditing or manufacturing quality experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Working knowledge of quality management systems, technical procedures, drawings specifications, and government or customer requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple corrective actions and drive timely follow through across departments.
• Strong written communication, documentation, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality or enterprise systems used to track findings actions and records.

Competitive pay based on experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, DCMA requirements, and Navy or customer specific quality requirements.
• Internal auditor training or certification.
• Formal training in 8D root cause analysis corrective and preventive action or similar structured problem-solving methods.
