Sr Principal Engineer - Harness & Interconnect

Overview Position: Onsite Mechanical Design Engineer, Harness and Interconnect Location: Tucson, AZ (US); Employment type: Onsite; U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance required prior to start date. What You Will Do Perform detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, and related activities to support harnessing systems. Contribute to proposals and estimates and support earned value management. Work autonomously with expert knowledge in the harness and interconnect domain; influence functional and organizational strategies; coach and review other professionals. Flex responsibilities based on organizational needs and skill sets. What You Will Learn Hands-on hardware work in a strong technical environment with access to subject matter experts and a dedicated technology pyramid for growth. Qualifications Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience. Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience; experience designing and/or modifying harness and/or interconnect devices. Qualifications We Prefer Experience with complex systems of devices and interconnects; development of harnessing requirements, system architecture, risk, verification and validation, safety and environmental compliance. Experience with industry/military standards; first-order electrical analysis (e.g., DC resistance, voltage drop); deriving technical requirements; technical data packages coordination. Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5; experience with Creo/Pro/Engineer and related electrical/documentation tools; harness design including mixed signals, EMI/RFI considerations, and 3D modeling. Experience with manufacturability of machined and injected parts, wire/flex harnesses; knowledge of ECAD, PCB design, signal integrity, and thermal management. Additional Information Onsite role: primarily onsite; some interview steps may be in-person at office locations. Salary range: 132,400 USD – 251,600 USD.
