Phlebotomist I Location: 228 Strickland Dr. Orange, TX Duration: 3 months Schedule: 1 st shift 7AM to 4PM M-Thur 7AM to 12PM -Fri Vaccination: RTB Color vision screening is required PSC location, candidate will be working with one other phleb. HM requested that candidate have 2 years of drawing experience. Will be drawing around 50 to 70, so strong skilled phleb Position Summary: The Phlebotomist I will perform blood draws and specimen collection while ensuring accurate labeling, processing, documentation, and handling of specimens. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform venipunctures using straight and butterfly needles. Collect, label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures. Verify laboratory requisitions, computer labels, and physician orders for accuracy. Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients. Ensure specimens are stored and transported at the appropriate temperature. Update patient information and maintain accurate documentation. Perform maintenance and decontamination duties as required. Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and department procedures. Attend required annual department training. Answer telephone calls and assist with laboratory result inquiries. Troubleshoot issues and make workflow recommendations as needed. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Valid phlebotomy certification, if required by the state. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
