Hospital Social Worker - LICSW

We are searching for a talented Social Worker‑Counselor‑Licensed . Hours: 32 hrs Shift: Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 7:30 am – 4:00 pm Location: St. Luke's Hospital – New Bedford, MA Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Social Work Services; perform diversified duties both within and in support of the social work functions. Under the supervision of an LICSW, provide case management services independently, including application of clinical diagnostic, assessment or treatment knowledge or skills. Identify and address psychosocial factors that may impede the patient’s ability to optimize benefit from the health care delivery experience. Intervene as necessary preventing over‑ and under‑utilization of health care resources. Actively participate in discharge planning to assure timely patient discharges within the scope of position responsibilities. A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university (or equivalent knowledge or experience) is required. Current Massachusetts Social Work license at a minimum of an LCSW is required. Over three (3) years of related work experience including at least one (1) year in a medically oriented setting is required. Computer skills are essential. Certification in Case Management is preferred. Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and the COVID‑19 virus, or be exempt with a signed statement for medical or personal reasons.
