Special Ed Teacher

Responsibilities Work with students with autistic support needs within the Neshaminy School District. Support a Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions program—specifically special education classroom for autistic support; provides specialized instruction that will result in the achievement of the educational, social, and emotional individualized goals. Implement and evaluate a range of direct and support services provided to students in an elementary school autistic support classroom. Apply PDE, IDEA, and chapter 14 regulations; competency in IEPs, positive behavior support strategies, classroom management, and MTSS/PBIS. Establish a supportive learning environment, evaluate and assess student progress relative to instructional objectives, provide guidance to support staff, and coordinate delivery of special education services in each student’s IEP. Schedule Monday–Friday: 8:50 AM – 3:35 PM. The position is aligned with the school calendar and is a full‑time role covering a 10‑month period and opportunities for extended school year program in summer break. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field required; Master’s degree in special education preferred. PA Department of Education certification as teacher preferred. At least one year of experience in an educational setting working with individuals with autism and/or other special education populations. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms. Strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Significant and frequent amounts of walking, standing and lifting of 10 lbs. or more required. Must be able to present through verbal and written communication, as well as develop visual media. Travel required as needs dictate. Repetitive use of wrists/hands/legs, including long periods of time operating office equipment.
