ASC Patient Service Representative

Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Illinois (OSCI) Do you pride yourself on providing exceptional service and helping patients feel comfortable and cared for? Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Illinois is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team. As one of the first points of contact for our patients, you will help create a welcoming and organized experience from arrival through discharge. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, handles sensitive information professionally, and enjoys supporting patients and clinical teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment. What You’ll Do Greet patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism Check patients in and out for scheduled surgical procedures Confirm patient demographic, contact, and insurance information Obtain required signatures, forms, identification, and insurance documentation Collect copays, deductibles, and other patient-responsibility amounts Process payments and provide accurate receipts Answer incoming calls and direct questions to the appropriate team member Communicate surgery-center procedures and general scheduling information Notify clinical staff of patient arrivals, delays, or concerns Maintain an organized reception and waiting area Prepare and review patient paperwork for accuracy and completeness Scan and upload documents into the patient-management system Assist patients and family members with questions while maintaining appropriate confidentiality Coordinate with clinical, scheduling, and business-office team members Protect patient privacy and comply with HIPAA requirements Perform additional administrative and patient-service duties as assigned What You’ll Bring High school diploma or equivalent required Previous customer-service, reception, or administrative experience required Medical-office or ambulatory surgery center experience preferredOphthalmology experience is a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills A compassionate and patient-focused approach Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to remain calm, professional, and helpful in a busy environment Ability to manage multiple priorities and frequent interruptions Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems Dependability, discretion, and a collaborative attitude Why Join OSCI?
