About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, certification for post-anesthesia recovery preferred Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Required patient ratio experience - Charting system experience using Epic Description: This position involves 8-hour shifts with varying start times based on surgical schedules and unit needs. Typical start times include 0900, 1000, or 1330. The candidate will provide care for patients recovering from anesthesia. Experience in a PACU setting is required. The role includes end-tidal CO2 monitoring, medication administration, and management of patients post-surgery. Candidates should have skills in airway assessment, cardiac monitoring, and pain management. They will also be responsible for discharge instructions and post-operative care. Ability to handle emergencies, recognize dysrhythmias, and perform CPR is essential. Candidates must be comfortable with adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations. Floating between units or similar facilities may be required. Travel candidates should be willing to work during major holidays as needed. References from previous employers will be required prior to starting. Applicants are encouraged to seek housing options in the area. Modules will be completed pre-start and annually, taking an average of 16 hours.
