Senior Accountant

We are seeking a hands-on, high-impact Senior Accountant to join a rapidly growing, high-volume sports/entertainment company. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled accounting professional who thrives in building processes, professionalizing financial operations, and serving as a key leader within an expanding business.

In this role, you will work closely with leadership (Controller & Owners) to guide the organization through its balance sheet audit, overhaul internal accounting processes, and optimize inventory and multi-state tax compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities & Priorities

• Audit Preparation: Lead the effort to reconcile/clean up the balance sheet in preparation for the company’s financial audit.
• Process & Controls Professionalization: Transition accounting workflows from cash-basis concepts to robust GAAP principles, reducing reliance on manual journal entries in NetSuite.
• Inventory & Cycle Counting: Oversee physical inventory counts and partner with warehouse/fulfillment teams (including 3PL partners) to establish ongoing cycle count procedures.
• Multi-State Sales & Use Tax: Evaluate and strengthen multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax compliance, risk exposure, and filing processes across complex touring and retail operations.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Establish monthly account reconciliation schedules and maintain strong internal controls across all multi-location activities.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience in consumer products, retail, e-commerce, or inventory-heavy environments.
• Core Strengths: Deep expertise in inventory accounting, merchandise logistics, and multi-state sales/use tax complexity.
• ERP Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of NetSuite (experience expanding NetSuite functionality beyond basic GL functions is a strong plus).
• Mindset: A true "player-coach" mentality - willing to roll up your sleeves to perform tactical reconciliations while advising leadership on process improvements.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or audit background (Public/Private blend) preferred.
