About the Role We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support the construction and restoration activities for the Bayswater Point State Park Shoreline Restoration Project in Far Rockaway, Queens. Role & Responsibilities Serve as the Construction Inspector and coordinate the work of specialty inspectors, including environmental, landscaping, arborist, and materials inspectors. Inspect and monitor shoreline restoration, site/civil work, landscaping, marsh restoration, boardwalk, and ADA-accessible pier construction activities. Ensure contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, permits, environmental requirements, and quality standards. Oversee and verify daily SWPPP inspections, erosion and sediment control measures, and environmental compliance activities. Review and approve materials prior to installation and coordinate testing and quality assurance activities. Attend project meetings, document field observations, prepare daily reports, meeting minutes, and monthly progress updates. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, agencies, and stakeholders to resolve field issues and maintain project progress. Skills, Education, and ExperienceQualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum 5-7 years of construction inspection experience with site/civil infrastructure projects. Experience leading inspection teams and coordinating multiple disciplines. Strong experience with shoreline restoration, marine construction, landscaping, habitat restoration, boardwalks, and pier construction. Knowledge of SWPPP requirements, erosion and sediment control, and environmental compliance. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, permits, and contract documents. Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. OSHA 30, NICET, CESSWI, or related certifications preferred.
