IT Specialist II - Telework Hybrid

Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

DMV's Information Systems Division (ISD) is seeking a motivated individual to serve as Information Technology (IT) Specialist II, under general direction of the IT Manager I in the Operations Systems Section/Business Services Salesforce Group within Enterprise Applications Branch.

The incumbent is responsible for Software Application Solution Design, Development, Configuration, Testing, Implementation & Maintenance of Business Services Salesforce group systems and applications such as Employer Pull Notice (EPN) and/or Case and Resource investigations management system (CRIMS) and or other related modern applications; maintaining the units application portfolio, system monitoring, technology management, change management, release management, incident resolution, user administration,  application patching and administration, multi environment application configuration, application enhancements and system upgrades for multiple Software as a Service (SaaS)  applications, Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications etc.,

The incumbent oversees and or act as a Technical Solution Architect/Analyst/Lead for complex IT functions which include managing medium to large Information Technology projects,  in depth systems analysis, design and administration, systems integration, new development, testing, maintenance and operations, support procedures, standards and best practices in compliance with DMV information standards and practices.

The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.

Working Conditions

Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change at any time based on State & departmental operational needs. Employees may be required to report to the office as necessary.

This position works in a remote setting or in an office setting, in a cubicle, which may include sitting for long periods of time, accessing a computer, and typing for long periods of time.

DMV operates 24/7, so this position may be required to carry a cell phone, work occasional evenings and/or weekends, or attend out of town classes or conferences.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Demonstrated experience as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, Systems Analyst, or similar position in a technology-driven environment.
• Experience with the development, maintenance, and optimization of custom, COTS, and SaaS-based web applications and enterprise platforms.
• Experience with computing software development such as Salesforce, Mulesoft, COPADO (or other DevOps), AWS etc.
• Demonstrates the ability to triage and resolve application issues by performing root cause analysis, implementing patches to code, and/or recommending solutions.
• Experience in Collecting requirements and Business Analysis and working as a module lead.
• Experience in working in Agile methodology and using a Application Lifecycle management tool such as Octane etc.,
• Documented experience in building architecture process flows, designs etc.,
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Possess strong analytical, creative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Possess knowledge and experience working on multiple projects at the same time and with various cross-functional teams.
• Think both as a business person and a technical expert.
• Demonstrates the ability to present to peers or executive leadership.
