Your key responsibilities As Data Architect – Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of one or more processes, solutions, and projects, focusing on quality, risk management, continuous improvement, and innovative solutions. Design, architect, and present findings and solutions, leading junior team members and collaborating with a wide variety of clients. Guide and mentor teams to deliver complex technical initiatives. Act as the go‑to resource for understanding clients’ problems and responding with appropriate methodologies and solutions. Help win new business for EY, serving as a trusted advisor to senior decision makers. Lead workshops and design sessions with stakeholders to capture requirements and align on data architecture strategies. Lead the design and implementation of modern data architectures for transactional, operational, analytical, and AI solutions. Direct and mentor global data architecture and engineering teams. Establish data governance policies and practice. Stay abreast of industry trends and recommend innovations. Skills and attributes for success Technical: Applications Integration, Cloud Computing and Architecture, Data Architecture Design & Modelling, Data Integration & Quality, AI/Agentic AI driven data operations. Delivery: Experience delivering business use cases in Transmission, Distribution, Generation, and Customer environments. Business: Strong relationship management and business development skills. Leadership: Ability to engage senior business leaders and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. Team building: Organize and lead workshops, guide global teams, foster innovation. Governance: Establish data security, quality, and lifecycle policies. Innovation: Stay current with evolving data architecture and management technologies. To qualify for the role, you must have A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field. 12+ years of professional consulting experience in industry or technology consulting. 12+ years of hands‑on experience architecting, designing, delivering, or optimizing data lake solutions. 5+ years of experience with native cloud products and services such as Azure or GCP. 8+ years of mentoring and leading teams of data architects and data engineers. In‑depth knowledge of data architecture principles and best practices. Experience leading large data engineering teams to design and build complex platforms. Hands‑on experience designing end‑to‑end architectures and pipelines. Proficiency in data modelling techniques and architectural design patterns. Experience managing complex data integration and migration projects. Programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and DataOps practices. Understanding of data encryption, access control, and security best practices. Experience leading infrastructure and security engineers. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Knowledge of Data Security, Metadata Management, Ontology Design, and System Design. Ideally, you’ll also have Master’s degree in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Machine Learning or equivalent. Experience working at a Big 4 or a major utility. Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks. Experience leading and influencing teams with a focus on mentorship. What we offer you A comprehensive compensation and benefits package: base salary ranging from $144,000 to $329,100 (US); $172,800 to $374,000 for NYC, Washington State, and California.
