About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Community Resilience Leader to spearhead its strategic initiative in community-scale climate resilience. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and driving the enterprise community resilience strategy, leading the development of a pipeline of community-scale resilience initiatives, and building executive-level relationships with external partners. This role is pivotal in positioning the company as a trusted leader in community-scale climate adaptation and will involve shaping strategy, building external partnerships, and working closely with various business units to align resilience efforts with portfolio outcomes. Applicants for the Vice President, Community Resilience Leader position at the company should be seasoned climate resilience leaders with a strong vision of how insurance can be a catalyst for community change. The role requires the ability to thrive at the intersection of strategy and real-world impact, and to communicate the company's resilience strategy and progress to senior leadership. Key responsibilities include developing public and private partnerships, advancing resilience credit frameworks, and supporting engagement with state commissioners and legislators. The ideal candidate will have a background in a relevant field, such as environmental science, urban planning, or public policy, and a proven track record in driving climate resilience initiatives. A deep understanding of the financial and risk case for community-scale mitigation, as well as experience in peril-specific resilience planning (e.g., for wildfire, flood, wind, and severe convective storm), is essential.
