Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HVAC Specialist to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and mechanical systems across various properties. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient climate control and mechanical operations that support our community services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a dynamic environment dedicated to community betterment.
Responsibilities
- Install HVAC systems including ductwork, equipment, and controls
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation systems to ensure optimal performance
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs efficiently and safely
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with property managers and clients about system status and maintenance needs
Skills
- Proven experience with construction projects related to HVAC installation and property maintenance
- Service technician experience with HVAC/R systems including troubleshooting electrical diagnostics and mechanical repairs
- Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical systems, and plumbing
- Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance, installation, and appliance repair
- Mechanical knowledge of boilers, ammonia refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and other mechanical systems
- Ability to operate hand tools effectively as well as specialized diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters
- Field service experience in property maintenance or facility management environments
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications in welding or electrical diagnostics are a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- WV HVAC technician certifications (residential or above)
- EPA 608 license
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have at least two (2) years of HVAC experience.
- Must have full range of mobility
- Must be able to reach overhead
- Must be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently throughout assigned workday
